Find the exact gaps
A free 20-minute session identifies where your child is losing marks — in both content knowledge and exam technique. I distinguish between the two before I plan anything.
AQA · Biology & Chemistry · Year 10 & 11
I hold a Master's Degree in Biology and Chemistry and have delivered AQA in seven London secondary schools — including A-Level. I know what your child's examiner is looking for because I have been teaching to those mark schemes for over twenty years. A graduate tutor knows the answer. I know why it gets the marks.

Most students struggle for one of three specific reasons. Take the free quiz to find out which one — and see the exact 8-week fix.

Why I am different
Most tutoring platforms offer graduates or undergraduates who sat the exam a few years ago. I am a practising, Master's-qualified classroom teacher. When I explain a concept, I know exactly where it leads in the A-Level syllabus — and exactly why AQA's mark scheme rewards the phrasing it does. That knowledge does not come from revision. It comes from over twenty years in the classroom.
I have spent the majority of my London career in girls' secondary schools — Camden School for Girls, Connaught School for Girls, Clapton School for Girls, Sacred Heart of Mary Girls' School. I understand how girls approach exams, where they freeze, and what unlocks them.
The real problem
In over twenty years I have seen the same pattern repeatedly. A student revises the content, understands it well, then underperforms in the exam. The gap is not knowledge. It is not knowing what AQA is actually asking for.
The eight-week programme
A free 20-minute session identifies where your child is losing marks — in both content knowledge and exam technique. I distinguish between the two before I plan anything.
One-to-one sessions using real AQA past papers and mark schemes. Students learn the examiner's logic — not just the correct answer, but why it is awarded the marks it is.
I review progress against the starting point with evidence, not impression. If the approach needs changing, it changes. I do not continue a method that is not working.
Timed past papers, technique under pressure, mock conditions. Students arrive at their exam knowing what each question is asking for — and what to write.
Student outcomes
"I thought I knew the biology. I didn't know how to write answers that AQA would credit. Once I understood the mark scheme, everything changed."
"We worked through real AQA papers and she showed me exactly what the examiner was looking for in each question. I had never been taught that before."
"The written report after every session meant we always knew where she stood. By week five we could see the grade she was on track for."

I will identify where your child is losing marks and tell you honestly whether this programme will help them. If it is not the right fit, I will say so.
Sixteen sessions across eight weeks. Two per week.
Direct questions
The questions parents actually ask — answered plainly.
Platform tutors are typically undergraduates or recent graduates who passed the exam themselves. I am a Master's-qualified, QTS-certified classroom teacher with over twenty years of teaching the subject. My QTS (TRN 1742325) is verifiable on the Teaching Regulation Agency database, and my Enhanced DBS certificate is registered on the DBS Update Service — parents can check both before the first session. No platform tutor offers that level of transparency.
Yes. I have delivered AQA Biology and Chemistry consistently across every London school I have worked in, including A-Level AQA Biology at Westminster UTC. I work with the actual AQA past papers, mark schemes, and examiner reports — not a general curriculum guide.
No. A Year 10 student who understands how AQA marks answers arrives at Year 11 with a significant advantage. The students who struggle most in Year 11 are those who spent Year 10 revising content without ever practising exam technique.
Progress is reviewed in week four and the plan is adjusted where needed. If measurable progress is not visible, additional sessions at preferential prices is agreed.
I have maintained 100% attendance across every school I have worked in over seven years in London. I schedule sessions around your child's timetable and I do not cancel. If something genuinely unavoidable arises, I rearrange — I do not leave a session unfilled.
